Itinerary

When you arrive in Sri Lanka, you will be able to find one of our representatives from Next Travel Sri Lanka at the Arriving Lounge of the Colombo Airport paging your name. Once your identity is confirmed, you will be heading to Negombo, the charming city by the shores. This ride would take a few minutes, as Negombo is located just a few miles away from the Colombo International Airport. Still, we can assure you that these few minutes would provide you with a good insight into the Sri Lankan lives, as you pass the bustling city streets and the coastal fishing villages. However, we have no special plans for the day. Thus, the time you arrive in Sri Lanka won’t ever be an issue for you. Nevertheless, if you arrive in the morning hours, you can spend leisurely on the shores, soothing yourself. Besides, an evening walk on the sandy shores would offer you the perfect ending for the day
Yes, the adventures begin this day! Following a delicious breakfast from the hotel, we would be leaving the charming coastal town of Negombo, in order to arrive at the Wilpattu National Park. On the way, we would be visiting the Munneshwaram Hindu Kovil, which is a significant religious and cultural attraction of Sri Lanka as well. Next, we would arrive at our destination, and during the late afternoon hours, we would take part in a game drive at this land of wildlife. Exploring the hidden secrets of nature, through the greenery, while spotting a few leopards, elephants, deer, other mammals, reptiles, amphibians, as well as birds, would certainly be a wonderful adventure!
Following a delicious breakfast, you would be heading to the ancient city of Anuradhapura on this day. This is the first kingdom capital of Sri Lankan history, and thus, it still holds a number of attractions that belong to the past. Hence, you simply have a lot to explore within this city. So, we have planned to explore this ancient city through a bicycle ride. Believe us! This is to offer you a wonderful experience, in a way that you can never imagine. During this city tour, you would be certainly visiting the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya, and the RuwanweliSeya, the most significant religious and cultural attractions in the town, and following this city exploration, you would be heading to Ritigala Forest Monastery. This is a place where the priests have lived in the past, and the calmness and the peacefulness it still holds make us realize how suitable it had been for the priests to spend their time. However, a visit to this place will soothe your soul beyond a doubt! Overnight stay would be at a nature-friendly resort at Habarana.
The fourth day of this tour offers you a bunch of amusements, as it is more adventurous. During the morning hours, you would get the chance of climbing the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the cultural treasure trove, that offers a climb of around 2 hours. During this climb, you will observe the Sigiriya frescoes paintings, mirror wall, as well as the ancient palace ruins on the top of the rock. Next, after descending this rock, you would head to the scenic village in the vicinity, to experience Sri Lankan life. There, you would get the opportunities to experience a bullock cart ride, a canoeing ride, and then enjoy the Sri Lankan hospitality, as you visit a village house. Evening hours are dedicated to hiking the Pidurangala rock, which is located in close proximity to the Sigiriya rock. This climb would be a bit harder than the one in the morning, still the views it offers at the top, are indeed worth the effort! Overnight stay would be at a nature-friendly resort at Habarana.
The fifth day of this tour is more interesting! Following a flavourful breakfast, we would begin our trip, and our first stop for the day would be at Dambulla. To be specific, we would be visiting the Dambulla Cave Temple, the famous religious and cultural attraction in this splendid area. This is a temple complex that houses five caves, with hundreds of valuable statues, ancient paintings, and murals. So, you certainly have a lot to observe here. Next, we would be heading towards Kandy, the city where the last capital kingdom of Sri Lanka was based. On the way, you would also be visiting a spice garden in Matale, where you can observe a variety of plants that produce the best quality spices from Sri Lanka. Then, upon arriving at Kandy, you would be visiting the Temple of the Tooth Relic, the sacred religious attraction of Buddhists. The day would end with a cultural dance performance that reveals to you the grandeur of the Sri Lankan culture, and traditional dancing styles. Overnight stay would be at a cozy mountain view hotel at Kandy.
After breakfast on this day, you would be heading to the beautiful mountain town of Central Sri Lanka, which is none other than Nuwara Eliya. As you might already know, this is the main city of the Sri Lankan tea-growing region, and thus, a visit to Nuwara Eliya would be incomplete if you miss visiting a tea plantation or a tea factory out there. However, you have nothing to worry about, because we have planned to give you the opportunity to witness this delight as well. The afternoon hours are dedicated to exploring the charm of this scenic mountain town, and this city exploration will let you witness the bustling markets where fresh fruits and vegetables are sold as well. Overnight stay would be in Nuwara Eliya.

Then, following breakfast, we would begin our trip to the Udawalawe National Park. As you might already know, this is one of the most popular attractions for wildlife lovers, and the jeep safari out there is the ideal way to experience the best at this park. Keep calm, because our schedules include a jeep safari at this land of greenery, to observe the wild species up close and personal. Following this excitement, you would be heading to the South Coast of Sri Lanka on the eve! You have the evening hours to relax by the shores, and the overnight stay would be at a seafront hotel.

However, the day would start with a wonderful adventure, as you would be heading for whale watching in the morning (Please note that this is a seasonal activity). Following this delightful experience, you would head to the iconic city of Galle, the capital of Southern Sri Lanka. On the way, you can even stop at Matara, to observe the sight of stilt fishermen fishing amidst the waves. Then, upon arriving at Galle, you have many and more things to observe! As you might already know, this city holds several remains from the colonial era of the past, and thus, starting from the architectural designs, the city plan, the Galle Fort, the LightHouse, and everything around is sure to amuse your eyes. After completing the city exploration, you would be visiting a turtle hatchery, where you would be able to observe how the turtle eggs are protected, and how the baby turtles are released to the sea. The day would end as you arrive back at the hotel, and relax by the shores. Overnight stay would be at a beach resort at Bentota.
