When you arrive in Sri Lanka, you will be able to find one of our representatives from Next Travel Sri Lanka at the Arriving Lounge of the Colombo Airport paging your name. Once your identity is confirmed, you will be guided to a luxury hotel around Colombo. And on this day, we have no special plans for you, since we believe that you need a good rest after a tiring overseas journey. However, our tour guide will meet you in the evening to plan the next day schedules.
Following breakfast on this day, we would be exploring the city of Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka. Simply, you have many things to experience in this bustling vibrant city. And during this city tour, we have specially planned to visit the Colombo National Museum, the National Zoo, and the significant cultural and religious attraction Gangaramaya Temple. And on the way, you would be visiting the Dutch Hospital in Colombo Fort, the oldest building in that area from the colonial era, which is now a wonderful shopping precinct. And this stay at Colombo would create opportunities to experience the delight and fascination of the Colombo nightlife as well. However, in the evening our tour guide would be planning with you the next day activities, and the overnight stay would be at the hotel in Colombo.
On this day we would be heading to the scenic Southern Coast of the island of Sri Lanka. And guarantee us, this day is going to be more interesting than you ever imagined. Of course, you have ample opportunities to witness the charm of the alluring shores in this area. Apart from that, you would be visiting one of the Turtle Farms in Ahungalla, where you would be able to observe a wide array of turtle species. Further, you would be going on a river safari in Madu River, which flows through a pleasing surrounding that houses an extensive range of flora and fauna. Following this city exploration that offers you a chance to observe the ruins and the wonderful architectures from the colonial era, we would be visiting attractive Unawatuna, the lovely beach which is also popular as the ‘lover’s paradise. However, following the visit to Walla Devalaya in Unawatuna, you would be arriving at your hotel in Unawatuna, where you would spend the night. The day would end with a discussion about the next day plans.
On the fifth day of the tour, we would be heading to the wonderful Southern Coast, Mirissa of Sri Lanka. Of course, it is one of the most fabulous beaches in Sri Lanka, with perfect waves for many water activities. However, we are aiming at an early start on this day, with the hope of joining a dolphin/whale watching tour as well. However, after enjoying a wonderful day on these alluring shores, we would be heading back to our hotel in Unawatuna to spend overnight. As usual, our guide will enlighten you about the plans for the next day as well.
The sixth day of the tour is going to be more exciting and thrilling. However, this day would be one of your favourites, especially if you are interested in nature and wildlife. Yes, we have dedicated this day to explore the Yala National Park, one of the most popular national parks on the island of Sri Lanka. We would be leaving Unawatuna early in the morning, at around 5.00 am, having breakfast on the way, with the aim of arriving at Yala, before noon. And once you arrive there, you will realize that this premise is home to an extensive range of wildlife, while leopards and elephants being the star attractions in it. However, a full day game drives out there would create wonderful opportunities to explore the wildlife up close and personal while capturing the best moments of them. Following this exploration, you would be visiting a Hindu temple, and then we would arrive at the hotel to spend overnight.
On this day, we would be heading to the scenic mountain town of Sri Lanka, Ella. Starting from its breathtaking sceneries, to the relaxing climate, Ella has many things to offer for its visitors. However, we would begin this Ella tour with a visit to the Nine Arch Bridge, which stands majestically in a scenic surrounding. Then we would be visiting the Ravana waterfall and the Little Adam’s Peak, and then we would create an opportunity to experience the Flying Ravana Adventure. Following these amusements, we would arrive at our hotel in Ella to spend overnight.
The eighth day of the tour is dedicated to exploring the beauty of another significant attraction on the island of Sri Lanka. Yes, it is none other than the mountain town of Sri Lanka, Nuwara Eliya. Once you arrive there, the cool relaxing climate out there, the lush greenery of the tea plantations, the waterfalls that stand tall, and the vibrant shades of the blossoms in the surroundings are sure to amuse your eyes beyond words. However, during this tour, we would be visiting the Hakgala Botanical Garden, the wonderful land of flowers, the Seetha Amman temple, a colourful cultural and religious attraction of Hindus, the Lake Gregory and the Lovers’ Leap. The day would end as your tour guide discusses with you the plans for the next day. Overnight stay would be at a hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
On this day, we are leaving Nuwara Eliya at around 5.00 am, to visit Horton Plains, and we will be having breakfast on the way. In brief, Horton Plains, one of the popular hiking hotspots in Sri Lanka, is a charm of nature. The greenery out there, the endemic flora, and fauna, and the wide array of wildlife it houses, makes this location a significant attraction for nature lovers. However, following the exploration, we would be visiting Mount Kirigalpotta, Mount Thotupola, and Baker’s Falls. Moreover, we would be visiting the Ambewela Farm, and a Strawberry farm during this trip as well. And finally, after visiting all these attractions, we would be heading back to our hotel in Nuwara Eliya for an overnight stay.
We would be leaving Nuwara Eliya at around 6.30 a.m this day, to head to the scenic city of Kandy. And during this trip, we would be visiting the Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya, one of the most alluring gardens in the country. Next, we would be visiting the Temple of the Tooth Relic, the most sacred religious attraction of Buddhists, that stands in white by the scenic Bogambara Lake. This day would be more exciting as you take part in the City Tour around this sacred city, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The day would end with a Cultural Show that exhibits the grandeur of the Sri Lankan culture and traditions. Overnight stay would be at a hotel in Kandy.
On the eleventh day of the tour, we would be visiting the Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya, to witness the charm of its wonderful landscaped greenery. Then, we would be heading to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you can find a large number of elephants, both injured and orphaned, living in their natural habitat itself. Afterwards, we would be visiting a wonderful spice garden located in the vicinity of Kandy. And towards the end of the day, we would be returning to the hotel in Kandy for the overnight stay.
This day is dedicated to exploring the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, which was the second capital kingdom of ancient Sri Lanka. Simply, you have many things to observe in this sacred city, that reveals to the world the grandeur of Sri Lankan history. So, first of all, we would be exploring the ancient grandeur of this city. Then, we would visit one of the most wonderful attractions of this city, which is none other than the Parakrama Samudraya, the sea-like lake built by King Parakramabahu, hundreds of centuries ago. Afterwards, we have chosen to visit the Gal Viharaya in Polonnaruwa, a significant cultural and religious attraction in this sacred and ancient town, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  And finally, we would visit the Minneriya National Park, and take part in a game drive, which would be one of the most exciting experiences you witness on this day. Yes, this game drive would create opportunities to observe a good number of elephants, deer, leopards and many other wild creatures. And at the end of this day, we would be arriving at our hotel to spend the night.
On this day we would be heading to the beautiful village of Sigiriya. And yes, that is where the massive rock fortress of Sigiriya rests. So, you would be climbing this majestic rock fortress, and this climb would be more interesting as you observe the mirror wall, frescoes, the ancient ruins, and the water garden out there. The climb would take nearly 3 hours up and down, and following the descent, you will enjoy your lunch. Then we would head to a village exploration, where you would be able to experience the life of Sri Lankans, Chena cultivations, a Bullock Cart Ride, and Kayaking on the lakes. And finally, we are going to end the day with another hike. Yes, it would be climbing the rock of Pidurangala, which is in a very short distance from Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Ending the day, we would arrive at the hotel in Habarana for the overnight stay
The fourteenth day of the tour is focused on the scenic ancient city of Dambulla So, following the breakfast on this day, you would be leaving the hotel to arrive at Dambulla. Of course, there are several attractions in this beautiful city. However, we would be visiting the Dambulla Cave Temple, which is believed to be the best-preserved cave temple in Sri Lanka. Its temple complex that stands above the surrounding environment, the valuable ancient statues and the murals of its caves are sure to amuse your eyes with delight. However, following this visit, we would be visiting Kandalama Lake, which flows through the scenic environment of Dambulla. On this day, we are heading to the ancient city of Anuradhapura, which was the first ancient capital kingdom of Sri Lankan history. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as well, and this city houses a number of ruins and cultural and religious attractions. So, first of all, we would be visiting the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, the most sacred tree of Buddhists. Then the city exploration would follow the rest of the eight great places of veneration in Anuradhapura, which are Ruwanwelisaya, Thuparamaya, Lovamahapaya, Abhayagiri Dagaba, Jetavanaramaya, Mirisaveti Stupa, Lankarama, and the Twin Ponds.  And finally, we would be visiting our hotel in Anuradhapura to spend the night.
The sixteenth day of the tour is going to be another fascinating day for you. Yes, we are heading to one of the most beautiful towns in Eastern Sri Lanka, which is Trincomalee.
