Itinerary

When you arrive in Sri Lanka, you will be able to find one of our representatives from Next Travel Sri Lanka at the Arriving Lounge of the Colombo Airport paging your name. Once your identity is confirmed, you are all set to begin this wonderful tour on this splendid island. By chance, if you are already in Sri Lanka, and staying at a hotel in Colombo or Negombo, you can still inform us about it and join this delightful tour. In such instances, we would be picking you up from the hotel that you are accommodating. However, the time you arrive in Sri Lanka on this day, or the time that we begin our journey is never an issue, since we have no special plans on this day. Still, our destination for the day would be Yapahuwa, and if we arrive in this village earlier, we can go on a village walk to enjoy its wonderful surroundings. Overnight stay would be at a hotel in Yapahuwa.
On the second day of this tour, you would be heading to the wonderful town of Kurunegala, which had got its name owing to the elephant-shaped large rock that it houses. This journey would only take a few hours, and it won’t ever be a boring one for you, as you get ample opportunities to witness the charm of the Sri Lankan countryside, as you travel to Kurunegala. Besides, don’t forget to stop at a small stall by the road, to refresh yourself with some delicious snacks, and a king-coconut drink. Upon arriving at the town of Kurunegala, you would get the chance to visit the Elephant Rock, Maraluwawa Temple, and also a local school. Besides, a walk in a coconut land out there, and spending some time at Kurunegala lake would surely delight you. Above all, this day would create opportunities to enjoy a tuk-tuk ride as well. Overnight stay would be at a hotel in Kurunegala.
The third of this tour promises you a delightful experience. Yes, on this day, you are going to hike the Yakdessagala, the rock which is also known as Kuvenigala. This is a not-so-popular hiking spot that has a bond with Sri Lankan history as well. In fact, this is said to be the place where the Kuweni cursed Prince Vijaya, following the rejection she had owing to the arrival of an Indian Princess. However, the climb to this rick is a bit hard, yet the views that it offers at the top are indeed worth the effort. Overnight stay would be at a hotel in Kurunegala.
On the fourth day of this tour, you are heading to one of the significant tourist attractions on this island, which is none other than the charming city of Kandy. Being the last ancient kingdom capital of the country where the Temple of the Tooth Relic is located, this city holds a bunch of cultural values and several amusements for you. However, we would be exploring this wonderful city on this day, and the city ride would include a visit to the Kandy City Centre, as well as a visit to the fruits and vegetable stalls. The day would end with a delightful Cultural Dance Show, which would reveal to you the glamour of the Sri Lankan traditional arts and crafts. Overnight stay would be at a hotel in Kandy.
This day would start with a visit to the beautiful land of flowers, the Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya. Next, the adventures for the day would begin! You would then head to Kitulgala, the best place in Sri Lanka for you to enjoy the thrill and excitement of white water rafting. However, the picturesque natural setting out there is sure to delight your eyes upon your arrival. After enjoying the charm of the surroundings, you can indulge yourself in white water rafting. The service providers will brief you about the safety concerns prior to the activity, and provide you with safety gear, and modern rafts as well. Still, this white water rafting activity at Kitulgala is only for the ones who are above 10 years. Following this delightful activity, you can trek to natural rock pools where you will be able to experience sliding down an inclined 05-meter waterfall with safety gear into the rock pool, a confidence jump, and a wonderful swim. Overnight stay would be at an eco-friendly resort nearby.

And don’t forget to taste a cup of Sri Lankan tea as well. Overnight stay would be at a hotel in Ella.
On this day, you would enjoy a drive through the countryside, into a village where the indigenous “Vedda” community of Sri Lanka lives. The chena cultivations out there, the way they make their living while maintaining a strong bond with nature, their unique culture, traditions of hunting and gathering, cooking on open fires, collecting bee honey, and their traditional songs and dances are sure to offer you a different experience. Besides, this village is a beautiful village with many things that you should not miss. Thus, kayaking through a wonderful environment, fishing, and relaxing on a hammock with the amazing view of the lake are a few things that are going to please you beyond a doubt. You would be spending these two nights at a wonderful nature-friendly resort at Mahiyanganaya.
Following a delicious breakfast, you would be heading to another scenic village in Sri Lanka, named Sigiriya. Yes, you guessed it right! This is the village where the ancient Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the eighth wonder of the world, is located. However, the morning hours are allocated for a walk in this beautiful cultural village. During this village walk, you would be able to enjoy a bullock cart ride, and then experience a canoeing ride across a beautiful lake as well. Following this delight, you would visit a farmer’s house where you will experience the typical Sri Lankan countryside hospitality and visit his farm. The evening hours are dedicated to climbing the majestic Sigiriya Rock Fortress. The cultural values you witness there are sure to give you a wonderful ending for this day. Overnight stay would be at a nature-friendly tree-house at Habarana.
On this day, you would be heading to the ancient city of Dambulla. It is where the Dambulla Golden Temple, the best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka is located. This site houses five caves, and you have a lot to observe in them such as ancient paintings, murals, and statues. However, following this observation, you can choose to hike the Pidurangala rock.
