Following breakfast on the third day, you would be leaving the resort in Bentota, heading to Kosgoda. And it is in Kosgoda that you will be visiting a Turtle Hatchery. Of course, it would be one of the most interesting things that you would experience during this coastal beach tour. In this turtle hatchery, you can observe a good number of injured and baby turtles. Besides, it shelters some of the most important turtle species, namely, Green Turtles (Chelonia mydas), Hawksbill Turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata), Loggerhead Turtle (Caretta caretta), Leatherback Turtle (Dermochelys coriacea) and Olive Ridley Turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea). So, you can not only observe the life of these turtles but also hold a few in your hands, witness how the turtles’ eggs are protected, how the baby turtles are looked after and how they are released to the sea at night. After spending some time, and observing the turtles’ lives up close and personal, you would begin your trip to Weligama, another scenic coastal town of Sri Lanka. On the way, you would be able to catch the sight of Sri Lankan fishermen stilt fishing. Indeed, that would be one of the most spectacular scenes that you would be able to see on a coast. Following breakfast on this day, you would start your trip to Mirissa, another scenic beach town on the South Coast of Sri Lanka. Simply, you will have plenty of things to do in this beautiful town. One of the main things that you can obviously do is to experience the charm of beautiful Mirissa. Its attractive sandy shores, blue waves, and the greenery around are sure to delight your eyes in a way like no other. Besides, waves at Mirissa create the most perfect atmosphere for whales. You will have your breakfast at the hotel in Welgama this day and then set off to Galle in the morning. And yes, you would arrive in this iconic coastal town, in a few hours, and once you arrive there, you would begin your city tour around this ancient town, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage site.
